The Rays play their last game before the All-Star Break today, hoping to beat Boston and finish with a positive after the toughest stretch in franchise history.

After yesterday’s 4–1 defeat at Fenway Park, the Rays have dropped five straight and 21 of 24. The Rays also have lost nine straight road games and haven’t won on the road in over a month (June 8 at Arizona).

Brad Miller’s 14th homer was the lone run yesterday. His next homer will tie the single-season club record for a shortstop, shared by Asdrubal Cabrera (2015) and Julio Lugo (2003). Miller has 31 extra-base hits, tying Lugo’s 2004 club record by a shortstop before the All-Star break. Miller has nine HR in his last 26 games played.

On the mound today is Jake Odorizzi (3–4 4.33), who is coming off a tough start against the Angels where he squandered a pair of leads, and allowed seven runs in 5.1 innings. In Odorizzi’s only other start this year against Boston the Rays won 12–8, but Odorizzi gave up five runs in four-plus innings.

David Price (8–6 4.64) will start for the Red Sox. He has allowed 12 runs and 17 hits over 10 innings against Tampa Bay this year in two starts. In his last time out, Price gave up three runs in eight innings against the Rangers.

Coverage today starts at noon with This Week in Rays Baseball. Guests include Cliff Floyd of MLB Network, plus Futures Game participants Willy Adames, Chih-Wei Hu and Ryne Stanek. The pregame show begins at 1 p.m. on the Rays Radio Network and Dave and Andy will have the call with first pitch at 1:35.
