David Price Shows Command With Stone Crabs

David Price made his second rehab start for the Charlotte Stone Crabs (High-A) on Wednesday.

Price went 5 innings vs. the Bradenton Marauders and gave up two hits, both coming in the fifth inning.  After the game Price said he felt good and did not think he needed another rehab start before rejoining the Rays.

The reigning AL Cy Young winner finished with 8 strikeouts and a walk on 72 pitches.  Four of the 8 Ks came in the second inning when Marauders’ right fielder Willie Garcia advanced to first on a wild pitch.

With his velocity reaching the mid-90′s, Price was in command with 54 pitches for strikes including 15 of 19 first pitch strikes.
